Speaking of Tutors, They Come in Lots of Varieties!

I heard from Kim Champley the other day. She's the vertical search person for GlobalScholar, a website focused on education at all levels. (Vertical search, by the way, is a kind of search engine that sends spiders out to find very specific topics, resulting in more relevant links.)

Kim's company provides tutors for every kind of educational purpose, whether your kindergartener needs special help or you're a baby boomer going back to school to get a degree, whether you need help with college admissions or writing a thank you letter. All of their tutors are freelance, have a minimum of a four-year degree, and have passed a background check.

You'll also find a college search engine at GlobalScholar called CollegeFinder. Here you can browse colleges by location, major, or degree, including online and on campus schools. For the younger crowd, check out SchoolFinder.

While you're searching, be sure to visit these About.com Education sites: Distance Learning, College Admissions, Graduate School, Business School, and English as a 2nd Language.
