Audit Classes for Free if You're a Senior (the citizen kind)

Follow me on:

Tim's Aunt Alice is in town visiting us for a few days. She's 86. Maybe a bit older. I don't ask her. She's beautiful and spunky, and very recently, for two full years, she and Tim took humanities and world religion classes together at St. Louis Community College at Meramec in Kirkwood, MO. Alice audited the classes for a very small price. Hers weren't free, about the cost of two movie tickets and a bucket of popcorn, but that's pretty close to free in the world of tuition.

At many schools, auditing is free for seniors when there are empty seats in the classroom. You may have to wait until the last minute to find out, but free is free. Give your local college a call and ask what their auditing policy is for seniors. Everybody wins. You learn for free, and the rest of the class learns from your life experiences, for free.
