Icebreaker of the Week: Table Topics^TM

Who knew some of the greatest conversations I'd ever have were because of a little four-inch acrylic cube? I bought my first box of Table Topics^TM a few years ago and bring it out when family and friends gather, or when the lights go out during a storm.

Table Topics^TM come in different subject matters. I have the Original, Gourmet, and Spirit versions. Each box is filled with 135 cards. Each card holds a thought-provoking question.

• What was the most memorable meal you've ever had?
• Are there times when lying is justified?
• Who would you like to trade places with for one month?

Only recently did it occur to me that these innocent little question cards would make a great icebreaker. Try Table Topics^TM in your next class, at that stuffy meeting next week, or the next time you gather with old friends who have lots more to tell you.
