"Let it all flow over me..."

Saturday August 9, 2008
I regret that I can't find the name of the author of the blog I am about to share with you. There is no way to email him (I think it's a him) from the blog, and no opportunity to comment (that I could find). I found the blog in my Google alerts for "older students."

The reason I'm going to share it with you anyway is that in his post of August 8, 2008 (080808, or 8/8/8, which is very cool), he very eloquently shares his feelings about being caught between the confidence that comes with age and experience, and the lack of confidence most students feel no matter their age. He is a doctor in training with medical experience. This is his advice to himself:

And so the conundrum of the older student. It is a daily walk to judge not based on the past, be open to the possibilities, and just let it all flow over me.
Let it all flow over you. Good advice, indeed.

Being open to the possibilities is also great advice. On of the quotes that keeps me motivated in my schooling is “Look forward to what the future holds for you.” That is good advice also and is a great motivater for anyone!
