I couldn't resist a little alliteration there. Thanks for indulging me.

Birge Amondson, About.com's Guide to Germany Travel, is a wonderful and frequent visitor to my forum, for which I'm very grateful. In the ESL thread in the forum, she wrote:

I learned English through music - as a teenager, I loved English speaking singer/songwriters like Suzanne Vega or Paul Simon, and I desperately wanted to know what they were singing about. So I sat down and tried to write down the lyrics. I made lots of funny mistakes, but I learned so much, and I can still recall many of the first words I learned back then.

Isn't that awesome? I love it. As a language teacher, Birge uses music and lyrics with words missing to help her students learn. Throw some dancing in there and Dr. Asher would probably be very impressed.

Check out the ESL Help thread and share your own experience learning language through lyrics.
