Kelly Roell, About.com's guide to Test Prep, has a great list on her site of 30 Common English Idioms. Ever pondered the meaning of "cat got your tongue?" or "put your foot in your mouth?" These are not things you want to translate literally! Yuk.

Kelly lists 30 such confusing English sayings. Before your next test, familiarize yourself with English idioms.

Do you have a favorite idiom in your native language? Share them here or in the forum. We'd love to learn a bit about your language too.
