Hi there,

We’ve used Moodle for a number of years now as our ‘online classroom’ for our courses aimed at adult learners. We have found that nearly all our learners take to it very quickly and find it easy to navigate the courses.

Our learners are as varied as the courses: we have had a Grandmother from Dundee (Scotland) taking Scottish history, a variety of Australians on our Forensic Psychology course, and a pilot from California taking our Astronomy for Beginners course.

Our ’secret’ however is that each course is hosted by a tutor who provides full support for our learners – in other words, the personal touch is just as important as the technology – wonderful though Moodle is!

From our perspective Moodle is a powerful tool that allows us to create fun but challenging courses: for our learners, moodle is supportive without being intrusive.

Cheers

Hi,

I have used Moodle for one year in my Business Technology (basic computer and employment kills) class. Our state requires our students to have an online learning experience. By using Moodle we are meeting that standard. The class of coarse still meets daily and lectures are still give but, All of the PowerPoint and notes are posted on Moodle. We are completely paperless. Every assignment his handed out, collected and graded online. The teachers start class discussions and students are required to participate online. I only have two complaints; First we grade on Moodle and then I have to transfer those grades one by one to our schools grading program. Second, the teachers have to wait on a district administrator if we have a problem. Teachers have very limited abilities.

I am a high school teacher in South Carolina. My students and I have been using Moodle since late 2002 and I cannot imagine teaching without it. Moodle is wonderful!

If you are not Moodling yet, you really should try it.
