Online Students Score Higher
An interesting study conducted by SRI International for the Education Department at The New York Times concluded that online students "rank in the 59th percentile in tested performance, compared with the average classroom student scoring in the 50th percentile. That is a modest but statistically meaningful difference."
Steve Lohr wrote Monday about the findings for The New York Times in the article, "Learning Online May Be Better."
The report compared test results from 1996 to 2008. Some comparisons involved K-12, but most were done in colleges and adult education situations.
This is really good news for those of you who are thinking about going to school but can't fit one more thing into your already busy schedule. If you could take courses from home, could you fit it in? Maybe. And now you know you just might do better than sitting in the classroom.

I found another online learning site that not only has continuing ed classes for adults, they also will pay you to teach too if you want to create your own program. Might be something to look into. Thought that was an interesting take on it.
