I missed the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day yesterday, and Cass Robinson brought it to my attention. Those of you who know me personally know I'm a huge advocate of both women and education, so shame on me. I have no excuse. I just missed it.
So here's a tribute to the 100th International Women's Day. It's especially poignant this year because, while each country can choose its own theme for the day or year, the United Nations chose for its anniversary theme: Equal access to education, training, science and technology--Pathway to decent work for women.
A schedule of events and lots of info are available on the United Nations' site and the International Women's Day site.
You can celebrate International Women's Day all year long. Education is one of the keys to success. It provides enlightenment, understanding, greater equality, better work, and lifelong fulfilllment.
Be curious. Keep learning. Be more fulfilled.
