Digital Vision - Getty ImagesMy favorite counselor at St. Olaf College chastised me one day for selling my textbooks at the end of the semester. "If you're not going to keep the text for reference, why did you take the class?" he said. More than 30 years later (yikes), I can still hear him saying that.

Nevertheless, I believe I have sold all of my college textbooks. Today, you don't have to buy them in the first place. You can rent them and save enough money to buy other kinds of books. Or anything else!

We've got two lists for you: 5 Places to Rent Your Textbooks and More Places to Rent Your Textbooks. If you've got other favorite places, add them to the list at the end.

The Internet also offers textbook comparison sites: 3 Textbook Comparison Sites. Check it out.
