Calling All Language Junkies

By , About.com GuideOctober 22, 2012

Follow me on:

I have a friend, Anina, who speaks about seven languages, three or four of them fluently. I am in perpetual amazement of her.

Learning new languages comes easy for some people. The rest of us need a little help, and short of having the means to travel the world for practice, the Internet is one of the best places to get it. And busuu.com is one of the best places on the Internet to practice.

busuu.combusuu.com now has more than 25 million users in more than 200 countries, and it's growing fast, with new investors and new headquarters in London. A new press release states the company offers "12 audio-visual language courses that include direct interaction with native speakers within its community." You can access these courses online and through apps for Android and iPhone.

The 12 languages, so far!, are Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, and English. Choose one and get going at busuu.com!

If you need more encouragement than that, here's a photo of the company's handsome founders and investors. Where are the women in your group, guys? You need Anina.
