Thank you for this fun post. Do you believe that English is a difficult language? Think again! I was so happy when I “changed” languages from Italian to English as a result of my moving to Australia.

In countries such as Italy, France and Spain there are 50-year-old professors who are still discovering new grammar rules. There are more grammar rules than words in most European languages.

I absolutely love the English language, it is to the point, uncomplicated and easy to learn. True there are some nonsensical words and verbs that all sound the same but mean completely different things–BUT compared to the volumes and volumes of rules and counter-rules I had to endure, English is a breath of fresh air. :-)

:-) I concur; English grammar is not as complex as some
European languages and indeed Asian languages. Many of the Asian students who come to Australia to enrol in training
tell me how they find the English language to be uncomplicated and easy to learn and far less difficult than their own native language.
