Who knew some of the greatest conversations I'd ever have were because of a little four-inch acrylic cube? I bought my first box of
Table TopicsTM a few years ago and bring it out when family and friends gather, or when the lights go out during a storm.
Table TopicsTM come in different subject matters. I have the Original, Gourmet, and Spirit versions. Each box is filled with 135 cards. Each card holds a thought-provoking question.
- What was the most memorable meal you've ever had?
- Are there times when lying is justified?
- Who would you like to trade places with for one month?
Only recently did it occur to me that these innocent little question cards would make a great icebreaker. Try Table TopicsTM in your next class, at that stuffy meeting next week, or the next time you gather with old friends who have lots more to tell you.
And, like always, if you've got an icebreaker to share, let us know about it in the forum.

What do you do when you know you want a new job, but you're not sure what else you want to do? Lots of things. Well, at least ten that I can think of.
I love lists, so I would start with one or two or eight of those. Once you know what you're interested in, there are ways of finding out if you'd really like to do it for a living or not. 10 Ways to Find Your Perfect Job is my list of the things I would do. I'm sure you can think of a few of your own to add.
If you do have additions to the list, tell me about it in the forum.
