Effective January 1, 2014, the state of Massachusetts will switch from the GED (General Educational Development) test to the new computer-based HiSET program from ETS (Educational Testing Service).

Adult education in Massachusetts is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education. Its website has not been updated to reflect this change, as of January 23, 2014, but there is a press release on the site announcing the switch.
