What Is Tactile-Kinesthetic Learning?

If your learning style is tactile-kinesthetic, what does that mean?

By , About.com Guide

Tactile-kinesthetic learners understand new information best when they can feel or do it, when they can experience the learning.

These students need to be physically involved in whatever it is they're learning. They are active participants in the classroom. Role playing, field trips, even fidgeting are helpful tools for the tactile-kinesthetic student.

There is some controversy over whether or not the entire learning style theory is valid. See Learning Styles - The Controversy
