If you're struggling with ESL, English as a second language, remember to consult your local literacy council. Even most small towns have one. Ask at the library. Any library. Don't want to ask? Check the bulletin board at the library.

Literacy councils are usually set up to provide free, private, one-on-one tutoring for people who need help with any kind of learning -- math, science, English as a second language, anything. All you have to do is ask.

Literacy councils are staffed with volunteers, many of whom are retired teachers who would like nothing better than helping people in individual situations overcome whatever it is that's holding them back. If ESL is your stumbling block, get help. It's a phone call away. It's usually free. It's almost always private. Nobody but your tutor has to know.
