Ice Breaker - Time Capsule

What message would you send into the future?

By , About.com Guide

What message would you put in a time capsule to be opened by your descendants in 100 years? Assuming we haven’t destroyed our planet by then, of course. We’re thinking positive here. Do you have advice? An admonition? Or would you make them laugh?

Ideal Size

30. Divide larger groups.

Use For

Introductions in the classroom or at a meeting. Especially poignant the older the group is.

Time Needed

30 minutes.

Materials Needed

None.

Instructions

Give your participants a few minutes to imagine what life will be like on Planet Earth in 100 years, and what message they would put in a time capsule to be opened by their ancestors then. When you conduct introductions, ask each participant to share their message and why they chose it.

Debriefing

No debriefing is necessary unless the exercise involves your topic in some way.
