One of the best things about the Internet is that lots of sites offer free learning. Whether you want to take in a free lecture, speak a new language, or learn how to use your computer, you'll find free lessons online.

1. About English As a Second Language
Right here at About.com, you'll find free info of all kinds, including Kenneth Beare's ESL site. He provides lessons for both beginning and advanced English language learners.
2. Goodwill Community Foundation LearnFree.org
One of my favorite new finds is provided by the Goodwill Community Foundation. It offers more than 750 free courses in 85 topics. I looked at the Excel class and found it clear and simple. I'll be taking that course myself.
