Eat cookies

I'm not kidding. When I'm stressed to the max, I whip out a cookie recipe, get my kid involved, and bake something delicious. It makes for a fun afternoon, and just the smell of the cookies baking will calm me down. Sometimes you just have to say "to hell with it" and do something fun and relaxing. The laundry will get done eventually, the test will get studied for, the mail will get sorted, and if dinner isn't on the table, then you can always order pizza. Life happens when you're trying to do too much and you wake up one day, realize you're five years older, and wonder how you got there. So you have to make the most of the little things. I'm rambling, and don't care!

Use a Planner!

Being a nontrad usually means I have several different balls in the air at one time. There is no way I can remember all that I have to do. I use a planner - for my activities, school work due dates, etc. as well as those of my family (daughter and husband). Once I can see everyone's schedule in one place, I am much better off. It's easier for me to keep track of things when I see them written down. It's also easier to manage my time when I know what to expect. I am going to sit down with my daughter and go through her planner with her so she can learn to manage her time as well.

Learn to Let Go!!!

When I was just a great mom, wife, daughter ect my life was hectic. Then when I added a highly competitive nursing program it went haywire. Each month (which trickles down to weeks, days, and seconds) I make my to do lists. When the load gets heavy I quickly prioritize and commit to being tolerent about the things at the bottom rolling over to another day. It isnt easy to settle sometimes, but I am NOT living life to be miserable. (And if anyone has noticed a little extra dust or my non-homemade dishes, they kindly haven't said a word!!)
