Yesterday we talked about procrastinating, so today, we're going in the opposite direction. What's the best way to get what you want, especially if you're a procrastinator? Write a SMAART goal. SMART goals, with one A, is a term that was first coined by management guru Peter Drucker in 1954. Since then, people everywhere have used it with such great success that it has been handed down and shared around so much that few people remember it was Drucker's idea.

Thanks to Lahle Wolfe, Guide to Women in Business at About.com, for asking who should get the credit for SMART goals. We dug around and found Peter Drucker, fondly called the father of modern management. You can learn all about Drucker on the Drucker Institute website.

So back to getting what you want. Write a SMAART goal. I'm telling you. They really work.
