Actor Joshua Leonard's bio on at Turner Classic Movies states: By the time he hit puberty, though, Leonard had decided that acting "was the last thing I wanted to do with my life." Instead, he pushed to obtain his GED at age 16 and underwent survival training with Outward Bound as preparation for a year and a half stay in Mexico where he volunteered with a youth services organization.

Skateboarder and Jackass actor Bam Margera's bio at IMDb states: Dropped out of high school in 11th grade, but later got his GED.

The bio for Judge Greg Mathis at TheHistoryMakers.com states: After attending Herman Gardens Elementary School, Peterson Seventh Day Adventist School, and Wayne Memorial High School, Mathis earned his GED through Operation Push while on juvenile probation in 1977.

Story Musgrave was a NASA astronaut for more than 30 years. Although his biography at StoryMusgrave.com doesn't specify that Story earned a GED, it does state: Story never finished school, ran off to Korea with the U.S. Marines where he was an aircraft electrician and an engine mechanic.

Sheri & Bob Stritof, About.com Guides to Marriage, have a detailed profile of Danica Patrick, the fourth woman to start the Indianapolis 500, and her husband, Paul Hospenthal. About Danica's education, they write: She attended Hononegah Community High School and received a GED.

Josh Peck of The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh, reportedly has a GED, although the only source I could find was a mention in a New York Times article by Peggy Orenstein about Miranda Cosgrove from iCarly: "At first I was kind of happy to be home-schooled," she continued, “because all my friends were afraid of that first day of middle school. But actually it's harder. You're all alone." For a short time, her co-stars, Drake Bell and Josh Peck, shared her classroom, but they were several years older than she and quickly obtained their G.E.D.'s. "I cried when they left," Cosgrove admitted. "It's cool in a way, but I miss being in a regular school."

Young Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla Perez died in 1995. A fan site, Selena Forever, states that Selena earned a GED (General Equivalency Diploma) from The American School of Chicago in 1989.

BuddyTV has this to say about actor Michelle Rodriguez: Though she dropped out of high school, she earned her GED and briefly attended business school. She eventually quit in order to pursue a career in acting, hoping to become a writer and director as well.
